This is what The Seeds of Change looks like from the outside.
Sometimes, the gate might be open. If it isn’t, your adult will get out of the car and press the button. It looks like this.
When the button gets pressed, it makes a call to a phone. Somebody at the centre will answer the call and speak to your adult and then open the gate electronically.
They will let your coach know you are here.
Cars park by the gate.
So, if you stay in the car, your coach will walk down the drive to meet you.
You will meet your coach and when you are ready, you can walk down the drive to the centre. They will talk with and listen to what you have to say.
This is called a check in.
Usually, you will go into one of the buildings with your coach so you can find out about the centre and learn how to keep safe. Most people use The Cabin,
but there are other places too. You will be given a folder to keep at the centre
When you are ready, you can put on a hat and boots. We call this PPE and we have lots to choose from.
If you have your own boots, you can wear those. To spend time with the horses you need PPE to keep you safe.
If you don’t wear PPE, there are animals you can spend time with, like guinea pigs, chickens and sheep.
Sometimes, it’s muddy here, but that’s ok.
You can meet the horses and find out their names and what they are like. You might find you have a favourite horse at The Seeds of Change.
Your coach will help you to learn more about all the horses and how to look after them.
This helps you to learn more about yourself and how to stay healthy and safe.
Your coach might take some photos for your folder, but they will always ask first.
When it’s time to go, your coach will help you change out of your PPE and talk to you about how your session went.
This is called a check out.
Your coach will walk down the drive with you to where your adult is waiting in the car. When you are ready, your coach will open the gate for you and wave goodbye.
