Educational Placement Officer (Maternity Cover)

Part time (20 hours per week, term time only) 6 months minimum

The Seeds of Change offer a range of education and personal development courses for young people and adults. Our work is done through the use of specialist coaching techniques and through interaction with horses.

We are currently recruiting for an Educational Placement Officer to cover maternity leave. The role involves development and co-ordination of regional activities based primarily at our site near Olney. Travel into the region will be required on a regular basis for meetings with referring bodies and prospective clients. Working 20 hours per week (ideally 4 hours per day, but can be flexible) term time only.

The focus of the role will be to work with Local Authorities, Schools and Support Services around young and vulnerable children to maintain existing business and develop new areas of work in Bedfordshire, Luton, and Northamptonshire. This will be through building strong links with existing organisations where we have on-going contracts. The role will report directly to a Seeds of Change Director.

The Individual

We are looking for a highly organised and efficient individual who has the ability to work on their own initiative. They will need to be a strong communicator, having the ability to liaise with a range of referring organisations and the sensitivity to occasionally liaise with parents.

We are looking for a confident individual who can promote the Seeds of Change in a professional and positive manner. The individual should possess a high attention to detail, along with excellent PC skills and be competent using Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The individual must have a clear understanding of client confidentiality and boundaries, and should have the ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.

Some experience of working within the education sector and alongside other agencies would be desirable.

The individual will be required to travel to client meetings and therefore it is essential to possess a car and a full driving license.


The successful candidate should have a good understanding of the education system.

Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
